Meghan Markle Joins Prince Harry For Christmas Lunch With The Queen
The Queen broke tradition by inviting Markle to the family event.

Prince Harry’s fiance Meghan Markle accompanied him to the royal family’s yearly Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace. The annual celebration is traditionally for close and extended family members only, however this year the Queen made an exception and invited Meghan.

The Queen similarly invited Kate Middleton to attend the Christmas lunch back in 2010 when she was engaged to Prince William. 36-year-old Meghan has managed to go a step further by securing an invitation to the Queen’s official Christmas church service and turkey lunch on December 25th at Sandringham Estate. The Duchess of Cambridge did not attend Christmas at Sandringham Estate until she was married to Prince William.

Meghan met many of her husband-to-be’s extended family and left Buckingham Palace with a huge smile on her face at 3.30pm. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were also present at the lunch along with their children. They are now travelling to Norfolk for additional festive engagements.
