The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have put their honeymoon plans on hold to attend a royal engagement with Prince Charles.

Newlyweds Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may have tied the knot over the weekend, but that doesn’t mean they’re jetting off for a romantic getaway any time soon. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are remaining in London to attend a royal engagement on Tuesday.

In their first official engagement as husband and wife, the royal couple will celebrate Prince Charles 70th birthday at a Buckingham Palace garden party hosted by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The engagement will mark Meghan’s first appearance at one of the Queen’s famous annual garden parties.

As well as members of the royal family, guests from more than 400 charities that Prince Charles is a patron of will be in attendance. The celebration aims to highlight Prince Charles dedicated charity work over the years.

In postponing their honeymoon, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex show the strength of their commitment to royal service. After the party, the royal couple is expected to embark on their romantic escape. Where will they go? See five possible locations here.
