Locations of interest released after Wellington traveller tests positive to COVID

Locations of interest have been released after it was confirmed a man who visited Wellington from Sydney has since tested positive to COVID-19.

The Ministry of Health has said anyone who was on the same flights as the man, at Te Papa’s surrealist exhibition on 19 June from 4pm – 5.45pm, or at Jack Hackett’s Bar on 19 June between 8.45pm to midnight, is considered a close contact and needs to get tested immediately and isolate for 14 days.

The man went to the capital with his partner for a weekend trip and tested positive to the virus upon return to Australia.

The couple landed in the capital at 12.12am on June 19 and returned home to Sydney on Monday at 10.13am.

New Zealand halted its travel bubble with NSW from 11.59pm last night and the pause will be in place for 72 hours initially. As with previous pauses, it will be under constant review.
