Kenya Calling

Kenya Calling
View the endangered black rhino in its natural habitat.

Established in 2015, the 54,000ha Sera Rhino Sanctuary in Kenya’s Sera Conservancy is the first community-owned sanctuary in the country, providing 24-hour security for 11 highly endangered black rhinos.

The Sanctuary actively works to conserve the rhino, as well as other animals which occupy the land, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras and wild dogs. A mobile anti-poaching squad polices hunting, while a comprehensive management plan monitors the livestock and vegetation.

Today, guests checking in to the freshly minted, tented Saruni Rhino camp here have the opportunity to track the beautiful black rhino on a series of walking safaris. The extraordinary experience sees you stroll through national parkland with guides and rangers, giving you the opportunity to walk within metres of the animals and actively contribute to the protection of the species.
