Since marrying into the royal family, Kate Middleton has only attended the Royal Ascot twice – in 2016 and 2017. But this year the Duchess of Cambridge returned for the third time, joined by the queen and other members of the royal family at the horse race. Arriving the traditional way via carriage, the Duchess arrived in the second carriage accompanied by the Duke of Cambridge, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Prince of Wales.
Kate wore a head-turning periwinkle blue dress by Elie Saab which featured a pussy-bow collar and polka dot tulle skirt. The look was complemented She completed with a Philip Treacy in a matching hue of blue.
Eagle-eyed fashionistas were quick to point out that Kate’s breathtaking dress appeared to be a customised version of a look from Elie Saab’s Resort 2019 collection, which is available now.
The duchess’s outfit choice marks a departure from the previous years she has attended the event. While she has only attended the Royal Ascot twice, on both occasions she has opted for similar-looking white lace dresses. In 2016 she wore Dolce & Gabanna and in 2019 she attended wearing another white lace number this time by Alexander McQueen.
