The Duchess made a cameo on the British children’s TV show Blue Peter to launch the competition that aims to get kids and families more in touch with nature. The mother of three got involved with the children ‘pond dipping’, planting and den building. Ponding dipping is the art of examining wildlife in a pond, describing it as “massively up my street.”
In her television segment, the Duchess discussed her love for outdoor activities. “It encourages creativity, confidence and even a short amount of time—10-15 minutes outside—makes a huge difference to physical well-being but also to our mental well-being,” she told presenter Lindsey Russell.
Back to Nature
Duchess Kate showed the importance of nature within her own family when she brought husband Prince William and all three of their sweet kids—Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 4, and Prince Louis, 1—to her “Back to Nature” garden last month. “I really feel that nature and being interactive outdoors has huge benefits on our physical and mental well-being, particularly for young kiddies,” she said at the time.
The Duchess also took the Queen around her Garden. See all the pictures here.
