Carmen is a 9-year-old boxer who is fighting for her life after trying to save her owner during a house fire.
When Ben Ledford’s basement caught on fire, Carmen climbed on top of his to cover his face. Sadly, Ledford died in hospital later on, while his loyal dog survived with severely damaged lungs.
Staff at the Cincinnati clinic are monitoring Carmen closely but feel optimistic about her making a recovery. She’s currently using a ventilator and taking sedatives to help her breathe.
