Adorable photo of Prince George is released in commemoration of the Queen's 90th birthday.

Prince George has been the subject of his first ever stamp, alongside his father and grandparent and great-grandmother.

The image, part of a set of four commemorative First Class stamps, has been released by Royal Mail ahead of the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations.

The photographs, taken by Royal Mail photographer Ranald Mackechnie, show a beautiful image of family life in the Royal Palace.

Logistically, according to Daily Mail, the staged image took quite a while to perfect. First George’s rough height measurements were recorded and the team spent two days setting up test shoots to get his levels just right. Then various locations were tested – finally deciding on the White Drawing Room.

Photographer Mackechnie, 55, described the scene to Daily Mail, as one of his fondest memories: ‘It was an amazingly relaxing and light-hearted sitting. They were comfortable with one another and behaved like any family with their conversation and jokes. It was much more relaxed than when I’ve tried to take pictures with my family.

‘The joy and energy coming out of George was fantastic. It lifted the whole shot and lifted the afternoon. He was on top form. He was quite fascinated by the lights. He took it all in his stride.’

The stamps will be available as a full sheet.
