Guide To Christmas Music

Guide To Christmas Music
10 songs that will get you in the festive spirit.

Whether you love Christmas carols or hate them, there’s no denying they are synonymous with the festive season. And while some aren’t so pleasing to the ear, others are perfect for singing along to as you decorate the Christmas tree or playing in the background while you open presents on the morning of December 25.

Here are our 10 favourite Christmas songs, ever:

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas | Frank Sinatra: Sinatra’s version of this Christmas classic evokes feelings of nostalgia and all that is good about the festive season. Put this one on as the day winds to a close.

Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) | Michael Buble: an upbeat song, this will definitely get you in the mood for Christmas. We love Buble’s take on the track.

Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time | Paul McCartney: you can’t listen to this song without feeling excited for Christmas. It’s an energetic tune that encourages listeners to embrace the festive season.

The Christmas Song | Nat King Cole: there’s something very warming about jazz legend Nat King Cole’s rendition of The Christmas Song. Let this soothing track guide you into the late evening after a day of food and festivities.

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas | Michael Buble: one to play in the lead-up to Christmas, this song is perfect for building excitement as the silly season approaches.

White Christmas | Bing Crosby: an absolute classic, the original version of White Christmas is unarguably one of the greatest Christmas songs ever. Despite Christmases in New Zealand and Australia being the opposite of white, we can still feel festive with a simple listen.

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town | The Crystals: the kids will love this well-known track, and with so many different versions there’s something for everyone. Throw it on before the big day to foster excitement.

Walking In A Winter Wonderland | Dean Martin: again, being in the Southern Hemisphere we can’t relate to the “winter” aspect – but we can still enjoy the jolly sound of this feel-good song.

All I Want For Christmas Is You | Mariah Carey: for the romantic at heart, what better way to sing in the silly season than with Carey’s Christmas classic? Show that someone special what they mean to you by putting this on loud.

Santa Baby | Eartha Kitt: fun and festive, Santa Baby is a cheeky twist on the traditional Christmas ballad. We love the original 1953 version by jazz singer Eartha Kitt.
