Phoebe Philo, the former creative director of Céline, is set to make a fashion comeback with the launch of her own brand.
Backed by French luxury group LVMH, the British designer is launching an eponymous line of clothing and accessories.
LVMH holds a minority stake, allowing Philo to be “independent, to govern and experiment on my own terms”.
“Being in my studio and making once again has been both exciting and incredibly fulfilling,” Philo said in a statement.
“I am very much looking forward to being back in touch with my audience and people everywhere.”
It comes three and a half years after Philo left Céline following 10 years with the company. The designer was also creative director of Chloé from 2001 to 2006.
Few details have been released about the new luxury brand, but it’s believed headquarters will be in Philo’s hometown of London.
As for what we can expect from the clothing and accessories created by Phoebe Philo, the designer says the label will be “rooted in exceptional quality and design”.
Further details are set to be released in January.
