First look at Nicole Kidman as Lucille Ball in ‘Being The Ricardos’ trailer

The first trailer for Amazon Studios’ Being The Ricardos has been released, giving us a glimpse of Nicole Kidman as the famous comedian Lucille Ball.

Kidman recreates Ball’s iconic grape stomping scene from the 1950s hit sitcom I Love Lucy. Starring alongside Kidman in the film is Javier Barden as Ball’s husband Desi Arnaz.

The film, set to release in December, chronicles a week during the making of I Love Lucy and is written and directed by Aaron Sorkin.

The film has been praised by Ball and Arnaz’s daughter, Lucie Arnaz, after she saw an early preview.

“It’s friggin’ amazing,” she shared on Instagram. “[Sorkin] captured the essence of that time in their lives so well.”

“Nicole Kidman became my mother’s soul. She crawled into her head. I don’t know how you do that. She cared very deeply about this part, it shows, and I believe everything she said.

“Javier Bardem, he really doesn’t look that much like my dad. But he has everything that dad had. He has his wit, his charm, his dimples, his musicality, his strength and tenacity, and you can tell from the performance that he just loved him.”

Being The Ricardos will be released in cinemas on 10 December, and on Amazon Prime Video from 21 December.
