And even though Samantha sadly won’t be making an appearance, there’s still plenty to look forward to for the upcoming revival.
Here’s what we know about the show so far:

Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis all confirmed the news of the revival with posts to social media in January.
Sadly, Kim Cattrall will not be returning to revive the role of Samantha, with the actress being open in the past about not wanting to star in another reboot.
It’s unclear how the show will address Samantha’s absence, although Parker said creating a character to replace her was not an option.
“We’re not looking to create a fourth character,” she said. “We have New York City as the fourth character.”
“There will be lots of interesting, new characters we are super excited about.”
HBO Max chief content officer Casey Bloys gave one clue over how they will deal with Samantha’s absence, saying, “Just as in real life, people come into your life, people leave.”
“Friendships fade, and new friendships start,” he said. “So I think it is all very indicative of the real stages, the actual stages of life… They’re trying to tell an honest story about being a woman in her 50s in New York. So it should all feel somewhat organic, and the friends that you have when you’re 30, you may not have when you’re 50.”

Chris Noth (aka Mr Big) will be involved
Despite rumours that Chris Noth had not signed on to the revival, the actor has since appeared to refute those reports.
When fans on Instagram asked why Mr Big was not returning, as reported by Page Six, Noth retorted with a very Big-esque response.
He wrote, “Well, if Page Six says it … it must be true 😉.”
The writing team will be mostly made up of women
Aside from executive producer Michael Patrick King, the writing team is entirely made up of women.
Parker said the writers’ room is “incredibly diverse in a really exciting way”.
COVID-19 will be addressed in the storyline
Parker has said how COVID has affected New York will “obviously be part of the storyline, because that’s the city [these characters] live in”.
She said the story will consider how the pandemic has “changed relationships once friends disappear”.
There will be 10 episodes
The series will consist of 10 half-hour episodes and will catch up with Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda in their 50s.
The new chapter has a new name to match – And Just Like That.
It will air on HBO Max
The show will air on HBO’s streaming service, HBO Max. Sarah Aubrey, head of original content at HBO Max, revealed how excited she is to continue the Sex and the City story.
“I grew up with these characters, and I can’t wait to see how their story has evolved in this new chapter, with the honesty, poignancy, humour and the beloved city that has always defined them,” she said.
Production will start soon
Production is set to begin in New York in late northern hemisphere spring.
