Emma Stone recalls ‘surreal’ moment accepting Oscar from her crush Leonardo DiCaprio
The 'Cruella' star recently opened up about the night she won her Academy Award of Best Actress.

Not many of us get the chance to meet our childhood celebrity crush, let alone accept a major award from them. But Hollywood actress Emma Stone got that very opportunity at the 89th Academy Awards.

Opening up about her experience on The Jess Cagle Show, the MiNDFOOD June cover star says it was a “surreal” experience being handed the award from her childhood crush, Leonardo DiCaprio at the awards ceremony in 2017.

“I’d seen Titanic seven and a half times in theatres. He was the love of my life,” the 32-year-old actress admitted.

“I had a picture of him in my bedroom that was signed, that I had gotten for my birthday when I was like 12 years old and I was walking to Leo and I was like, this is officially the most surreal moment of my life. I could not believe it.”

Stone admits DiCaprio might think she’s “a little weird” since the encounter. “Whenever I see him, I’m kind of like, “Hey, how’s it going?” You know, just in little moments either at the same event or something. He’s very sweet though. But that was truly, that was what was the craziest experience was the fact that it was him.”

Stone stars in the Disney live-action 101 Dalmatios prequel Cruella releasing on 27 May.
