By MiNDFOOD

It’s been an interesting day for virus news across Australia. While NSW has recorded another record high number of cases for the current outbreak, other parts of the country are exiting lockdown.

Here’s the latest:

NSW records 172 cases

NSW has announced 172 cases of COVID-19, with 60 of those infectious while in the community.

It’s the largest case number reported by the state in the current outbreak.

Regional NSW lockdown to end

Stay-at-home orders that are currently in place for Orange City Council, Blayney Shire Council and Cabonne Shire Council will end on schedule at 12.01am Wednesday.

Restrictions in those regions will return to those which are in place for the rest of regional NSW.

South Australia’s lockdown lifts

South Australia is set to exit lockdown at midnight tonight as planned after recording no new virus cases today.

Some restrictions will remain – cafes and restaurants can only operate at 25 per cent capacity, with diners seated at all times.

Masks will be mandatory for high-risk settings such as aged care homes, personal care services such as the hairdresser, and indoor public spaces.

They are also strongly recommended for workplaces.

Victoria to exit lockdown

Victoria’s fifth coronavirus lockdown will end at midnight tonight, however a number of restrictions will remain in place.

It comes after the state reported 10 new cases, all of which were in quarantine during their infectious period.
