Over half of the new cases are related to overseas travel, most are close contacts or associated with an even with identified cases. There remain two cases that are being treated as community transmission. These two cases are located in Auckland and Wairarapa.

Dr Bloomfield said contact tracing is being “ramped up” with 1200 tests being processed today. He also said they will be stepping up capacity at Healthline, adding more staff and support from over government healthlines.
