Auckland’s inner-city oasis, The Hotel Britomart celebrates its first birthday
In the short space of a year, The Hotel Britomart, New Zealand's award-winning eco hotel, has quickly established itself as one of the country's most innovative and desirable luxury stays.

1 October marked one year since 5 Green Star hotel, The Hotel Britomart, opened its doors and it’s been a memorable year, to say the least.

Despite the unpredictability of lockdowns and the closing and opening of the trans-Tasman bubble, The Hotel Britomart has welcomed thousands of guests and garnered local and international acclaim, earning a spot on Conde Nast Traveler’s Hot List of the world’s best new hotels and being a runner up in National Geographic’s Most Sustainable Hotel 2021 award.

“The great thing about these global accolades is that they mean The Hotel Britomart is going to be at the top of the list for international visitors when they’re able to travel here again,” says general manager Clinton Farley.

Located in the heart of Auckland city, the hotel is designed by Cheshire Architects and boasts 99 guest rooms and five exquisite Landing Suites, along with all-day restaurant kingi, which is currently building a new glass roof over Tuawhiti Lane so diners can enjoy the laneway in all weather.

“The enormous support from New Zealanders at a time when the borders have been closed means we’re feeling really optimistic about our second year,” says Farley. “We’re really looking forward to welcoming people back… And while international travel remains challenging, we know plenty of New Zealanders will relish enjoying all the changes in their biggest city with a stay at The Hotel Britomart.”

As a thank you to guests, The Hotel Britomart is offering exclusive birthday rates offer 20% off stays until March 2022, with flexible booking conditions. All stays must be booked by 7 October.
