Bar Magda

Chef Carlo Buenaventura has made the leap from The Cult Project pop-ups to his first permanent restaurant, Bar Magda. Located in the K Road neighbourhood, the underground restaurant showcases Aotearoa seasonal produce told through a Filipino lens. “It’s these moments in time, personal experiences that we’re going to translate through food, drink and hospitality,” he tells STYLE in the new Winter issue.

Alpha at Pasture

Acclaimed chef Ed Verner is expanding his Pasture offering with a new daytime-to-early-evening storefront spot. Opening in early July, Alpha at Pasture gives diners a unique look inside Pasture’s test kitchen, where you can watch chefs experiment with new dishes, or enjoy their takeaway offerings of specialty baked goods.

Va Bene

A charming new European eatery has opened in Parnell. Drawing inspiration from the wine bars of France and Italy, Va Bene boasts flavoursome shared dishes and carefully-curated wines that are perfect for winter dining – such as beef bourguignon with kumara puree. Delish.
