After being kicked out of Australia, Novak Djokovic is confirmed to play in Dubai Tennis Championships
Following his deportation from Australia and being unable to defend his Australian Open title, Novak Djokovic will return to the court next month in Dubai.

Event organisers have confirmed Djokovic will headline the Dubai Tennis Championships following weeks of drama in Australia over his visa and vaccination status.

Refusing to be vaccinated from COVID-19, the tennis star will be allowed to enter Dubai if he produces a negative PCR test result on arrival.

He has won the Dubai tournament five times previously. Roger Federer holds the record for most titles at Dubai, eight in total.

Djokovic will face defending champion Aslan Karatsev and rising stars Andrey Rublev and Denis Shapovalov at the event which runs from February 14 to 26.

“We are delighted to see Novak back in Dubai for the 12th time when he will be seeking his sixth title and we wish him the best of luck,” said organisers.

This will be his first return to court, as Djokovic is not currently entered in upcoming ATP events in Rotterdam or Rio de Janeiro.
