A guide to New Zealand’s stunning spring blossom festivals
While dreams of visiting the iconic cherry blossoms in Japan are out of reach this year, New Zealanders can still experience the beautiful blossoms right in your backyard. 

Waikato Cherry Tree Festival

It’s your last chance to get amongst the beautiful blossoms this Saturday, 26 September at the Waikato Cherry Tree Festival.

Held at the beautiful English Cherry Tree Manor in Tamahere, the festival boasts cultural performances, high tea, food trucks and of course, beautiful gardens and cherry blossoms to explore.

The theme for the last weekend of the festival is ‘Kiwi Retro’, and attendees are encouraged to dress up in their favourite vintage fashion.

Hastings Blossom Festival

The annual Blossom Parade in Hastings is back for 2020, kicking off on Saturday, 3 October.

Head along to Albert Square at 10 am to see live entertainment before the colourful parade, featuring exciting floral floats and costumes.

The Hastings Blossom Festival is a free event and a great time for families.

Wellington Spring Festival

Get amongst the tulips and spring blossoms at the Spring Festival in the Wellington Gardens.

Starting this Saturday, 26 September and running until 11 October, the festival features guided garden walks, beekeeper workshops and the chance to explore the world-class gardens during the most beautiful time of the year.
