2018 Archibald Prize Awarded

Australia's most prestigious portraiture prize, the Archibald Prize, has been awarded for a self-portrait inspired by Jacinda Ardern.

Yvette Coppersmith has won the 2018 Archibald Prize, Australia’s most prestigious portraiture prize. Coppersmith won with a self-portrait titled ‘Self-Portrait, After George Lambert’, featuring muted tones and in the style of Lambert’s work.

Coppersmith told The Guardian that her portrait was inspired by New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Adern.

The Archibald Prize has been awarded annually to deserving artists since 1921. Winners receive $100,000.
