12 Things You Didn’t Know About Margot Robbie
There's more to Australian beauty Margot Robbie than meets the eye.

There’s a lot more to Australian sweetheart Margot Robbie than meets the eye. The native Queenslander is incredibly grounded for an international celebrity, with a bunch of hobbies and passions we can all relate to. Here are just a few things you might not know about the Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood star.

She starts the day with a green health drink.

Margot told Harper’s Bazaar that every morning she starts the day with “what I call green stuff”. The 29-year-old describes her go-to drink as “an immune-boosting powder that you mix in with a bit of juice”.

She actually learnt to figure skate for I, Tonya.

Her favourite food is an Aussie and Kiwi staple.

“Avocado on toast and bacon, that’s my ideal breakfast,” the star confessed.

She’s pro-marriage equality.

As an Australian citizen, Margot made her thoughts on the gay marriage plebiscite clear.

She’s obsessed with tea.

“I probably drink at least 10 teas a day,” she said. “In our family, a cup of tea is the answer to everything. When you walk in, you get offered a cup of tea. If something goes wrong, someone will be like, ‘I’ll make you a cup of tea.’ If something good happens, they will be like, ‘Great! We’ll make you a cup of tea.'” Margot’s favourite brand is Dilmah. “I bring Dilmah tea with me everywhere,” she revealed.

She loves dogs.

The blonde beauty has a rescue dog named after Boo Radley from the novel To Kill a Mockingbird.

She has one extensive sleeping ritual.

“I’ve got eye masks and sleep music and melatonin and lots of soothing scents. I do everything possible to try to sleep better,” she admits. “I can’t go home and fall straight asleep; it takes a long time to switch my brain off.”

And she loves travel, too.

Margot’s Instagram is littered with images of her travelling the world, from Miami and Paris to the Philippines and Cuba.

She’s a self-confessed Harry Potter fan.

“I’m a massive Harry Potter nerd, and although I’ve read the books probably 20 times each, I read Harry Potter before bed and it helps me switch my brain off,” she said.

She likes to laugh at herself.

The actress often comes across as the girl-next-door in interviews, and her Instagram account proves she’s more than happy to make fun of herself.

Her exercise routine is pretty simple.

Margot isn’t a big fan of the gym. “I feel like my body looks better if I get more sleep rather than an hour at the gym. If I have the time, I like dance classes; it doesn’t feel like exercise to me. Or just playing sports with friends,” she says. “Sometimes I play tennis, even though I’m not that good. If I’m in L.A., I go see Andie Hecker. She used to be a ballerina, and she incorporates ballet techniques with a Pilates machine with weights.”

She’s a fan of watersports.

Margot surfs, snorkels and dives – and, like most Australian’s born on the coast, she loves swimming.
