Ten men have been jailed for the attack on Malala

Ten men behind the horrific attack on education campaigner and youngest ever winner of the Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai in 2012 have been jailed for life.

Yousafzai was 15 years-old when members of the Taliban boarded her school bus in Pakistan and shot her point-blank in the head.

Her crime? Writing about the situation in her home town of Swat and campaigning for girls right to education.

The men were arrested last September in a joint bid between several security agencies, and were accused of involvement in plots to kill a number of high-profile people.

According to the BBC, the man believed to have fired the bullet into Malala is a militant who is believed to be in hiding in Afghanistan.

Malala has won praise all around the world for her bravery and fight for female education and rights. She lives in the UK now with her family, and has stated that she would like to become the next Prime Minister of Pakistan.
