As they say, all roads lead to Rome and Valentino’s Mirabilia Romae collection showing was the destination. Valentino’s Fall 2015 Haute Couture show was a highlight of Couture Week, transporting us to the Italian capital in a whirlwind tour of history and design. The show was held at the Italian Maison’s new flagship store with a dramatic and mesmerising collection of Roman inspired silhouettes. House designers, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli pay homage to their Italian heritage with flowing black gowns, striking gold pendants and hairpieces, long capes and an embellished eagle; the symbol of imperial Rome. Gladiator sandals, a lace gladiator minidress and of course Valentino’s signature collection of red gowns were features of the show. This is one Roman holiday we wish we could relive time and time again.
