The Empire State Building was shining with a different kind of projection this past weekend. The late Cecil the Lion and members of his fellow endangered species list, attracted the attention of the world, when their profiles were projected onto the sides of the epic building.
The statement, as part of the show Projecting Change, acted to draw attention to the plight of endangered species amid world wide outrage over the illegal slaughter of Cecil in Zimbabwe.
The projections were part of a promotion for the upcoming documentary Racing Extinction, which was created by a group of artists and activists, who are hoping to change the way we see the world and expose us to the reality of extinction.
Over the course of the evening more than 160 species were displayed over 33 stories of the historic building.
