With the boundary between fashion and technology being constantly blurred both on and off the runway, it came as no surprise to many when the theme of the spring exhibition for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute was announced as Manus x Machina: Fashion in the Age of Technology. The theme-inspired dress code for the annual gala was translated into ‘tech white tie’ by American Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour.
