Great project turns elderly people into grafitti artists

Knitting, bowls and cooking delicious and calorific food are activities often associated with elderly folk. You don’t really expect them to be out on the streets brandishing paint cans and ‘tagging’ buildings with graffiti. Which is why a project by a group called LATA 65 in Portugal is so great – it’s getting older people into street art by teaching them about the history of street art before taking them to rundown parts of the city of Lisbon to brighten them up.

Challenging stereotypes – for old and young people – and an excellent excursion in one. It will certainly make you think differently about graffiti.

Find out more about LATA 65 here.
