Ghesquière’s California Dreaming

Nicolas Ghesquière, visionary designer behind the Louis Vuitton label, has re-imagined the palm springs ethos in his latest ’16 collection.

His second resort collection was shown at the Bob Hope Estate, which made a lasting impression on him when he visited, over fifteen years ago.

Maxi skirts and desert boots, topped with ethereal cropped blouses, were juxtaposed by leather belts and studded eyelets – showing a hint of reserved midriff. The other-worldly setting provided the perfect backdrop for Ghesquière’s transition into heavy leathers, scuba jackets and perfectly tailored trousers, that were met with prairie dresses and printed hot pants.

California Dreaming, at its best.

Here are some of our favourites from the show.
