Oodles Of Voodles

Oodles Of Voodles
Versatile veggies add another string to their mealtime bow.

From zoodles to boodles, social media is trending with photographs of vibrant voodles (spiralised vegetables) in all shapes and colours.

Reduce your carb intake

For those wanting to reduce their carbs and calories, and increase their intake of nutrient-dense vegies, voodles are your go-to. Used as a pasta, noodle or rice replacement, or added to stir-fries, fritters and salads, voodles are quick and easy to make, and versatile.

You can spiralise a whole range of vegetables and some fruit, too (like apples, which are delicious added to pancake mix). Zoodles (spiralised zucchini) are a popular pasta replacement, particularly when served with homemade pesto or tomato sauce. To prepare, spiralise the zucchini and sauté in a pan for a couple of minutes, then add sauce for a quick and healthy meal.

Noodles, soodles and boodles

Soodles (sweet potato) and boodles (beetroot) make delicious baked curly fries and are packed with fibre.

Just spread the spiralised vegies on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil and bake in the oven on high for about 30 minutes. Sweet spiralised carrots also make a delicious pasta replacement or salad addition, particularly sautéed in a little butter.
