World Heart Day

World Heart Day
How is your heart doing?

With cardiovascular diseases the main cause of death worldwide, acknowledging the need for healthy hearts is important. Every year on September 29, we celebrate World Heart Day, a campaign organised by the World Heart Organisation to spread awareness about heart disease.

There are many factors that contribute to poor heart health, which causes strokes and heart attacks. These include smoking, obesity, high blood pressure and cholesterol, lack of exercise and a low consumption of vegetables.

World Heart Day aims to encourage people to improve the condition of their hearts by getting outdoors and exercising, eating healthy meals, quitting smoking and going for a health check. Keep your ticker going by incorporating the above suggestions into your routine.

Did you know that heart health is linked to brain health in later life?
