Women Helping Other Women to End World Hunger
The world’s first female-led movement to end world hunger has been launched.

The Hunger Project is a global non-government organisation that empowers people living in rural, remote India, Bangladesh, Africa and Latin America to become self-reliant and end their own hunger; with a particular focus on empowering women and girls. Currently the organisation reaches 21 million people who are transforming themselves, their families and their communities, whilst bringing about the end of hunger.

Now The Hunger Project Australia has officially launched Unleashed Women – the world’s first female-led movement empowering women to end hunger by 2030. The movement was created to connect, empower and celebrate Australian women by inspiring them to work together as a powerful collective to do something remarkable: end chronic, persistent hunger globally. This movement is for women who want to play a role in the end of hunger and be a part of something big.

Unleashed Women encourages women to sign up as a fundraiser and mobilise other women to do the same. Throughout the fundraising period, women are encouraged to connect with other women in the movement and to support each other along their journey.

The Hunger Project aims to raise $250, 000 from the movement in its first year, which will go to their programs empowering women in Africa, India and Bangladesh. Funds will go towards programs such as education and sanitation for villages or microfinance loans for women.
