While it’s been a huge decade for the Royal Family, it’s been an even bigger 10 years for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge specifically.

To mark the pair’s 10th wedding anniversary, we take a look back at our favourite moments of the decade in the lives of William and Catherine.

 

William and Catherine’s engagement

After a decade-long, on-off romance, Prince William announced his engagement to Kate Middleton in November 2010.

 

William and Catherine’s wedding

Catherine walked down the aisle at Westminster Abbey in a custom-made Alexander McQueen gown in April 2011. Her marriage to Prince William was watched by tens of millions of people around the world.

 

Willliam and Catherine’s babies’ births

First came George, then Charlotte, then Louis. All three royal bubs were born in the Lindo Wing of London’s St Mary’s Hospital. The couple reportedly plans to have four children, so we hope to see another birth in the near future.

 

Prince George’s tour down under

William and Catherine brought their bouncing baby boy on their tour of Australia and New Zealand in 2014. The trip was filled with heart-warming moments between George and his parents.

 

William, Catherine and Harry launch Heads Together

The two brothers and Kate teamed up to launch mental health initiative Heads Together in 2016, which works to dispel the stigma around mental illness.

 

Princess Charlotte’s tarmac tantrum

Princess Charlotte proved she was like any other toddler when she had a tantrum at Hamburg airport before her family boarded a helicopter in 2017.

 

Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s first days at school

A nervous Prince George fronted up for his first day of school at Thomas’s Battersea hand-in-hand with his father in 2017. A more confident Charlotte followed suit in 2019.

A video released of Catherine’s ‘Back to Nature’ garden in 2019 showed a then-12-month-old Prince Louis already walking.

 

The Cambridges and the Sussexes part ways

Kensington and Buckingham palaces announced in 2019 that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would no longer be working with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, choosing to pursue their own charitable endeavours.

 

Catherine’s fashion transformation

Fashion followers have loved watching Catherine’s sartorial transformation, with the Duchess debuting a number of iconic outfits.

 

Farewell to the ‘Fab Four’

Meghan and Harry announced they would be stepping back from royal duties in early 2020, and they relocated with Archie to the US. The so-called Fab Four of Meghan, Harry, Kate and William made their final public appearance together for Commonwealth Day in March 2020.

 

Defending the family

Prince William felt compelled to defend his family when Harry and Meghan gave a bombshell interview to Oprah Winfrey and alleged a member of the Royal Family had been concerned about the colour of Archie’s skin. During a royal engagement, the Duke of Cambridge told media: “We are very much not a racist family.”

 

Extending an olive branch

Kate was praised after she was seen approaching Prince Harry at Prince Philip’s funeral, apparently breaking the ice between the two brothers and paving the way for conversation amid the awkwardness of Harry seeing the family for the first time after the Duke of Edinburgh’s death.
