Where to get the pigmentation treatment that’s gaining worldwide buzz

By MiNDFOOD

The world’s best-selling depigmentation peel offers remarkable results and it currently comes with an added extra*.

Patchy, uneven pigmentation is high on our list of skin bugbears.

Our desire to minimise the brown uneven patches and spots and achieve a more even, fresh and glowing skin has fueled huge growth in the number of skincare products landing on shelves, seeking to address the issue.

Plenty of it helps, but much of it lacks the formulation intensity to effectively shift the pigmentation.

So what to try when you’re not getting the results you’re looking for, or you have widespread or stubborn melasma, hyperpigmentation or skin discolouration?

Seek the help of an expert! The Advanced Beauty Therapists at Skin Institute confirm these concerns are commonly among queries for customers seeking to achieve their best skin. High on the list of solutions is the Cosmelan Depigmentation Peel treatment, that’s gaining plenty of attention for its remarkable results on all ethnicities and skin tones.

In-clinic skincare treatment

‘Peel’ is a word that has the potential to cause the nervous to reconsider their options, but there’s no cause for apprehension. The term really refers to a professional strength skincare application that is carried out in clinic. It’s non-invasive and doesn’t hurt at all.

Developed in Spain and buzzed about worldwide, the Cosmelan Peel tackles all types of pigmentation with up to 95% reduction of melasma, post-inflammatory pigmentation and age spots. The in-clinic peel procedure is designed to reduce surface pigment and is followed by a special at home skincare regime to reduce pigment over three months.

This treats the source of pigment by reducing melanin overproduction at the source.

It can also improve dull skin, dark spots, dry areas, blemishes, and even acne scars.

The procedure involves a multi-ingredient, melanin-inhibiting mask being applied in a Skin Institute clinic which you leave on, and wash off later at home, after approximately 8 hours.

Once your skin has settled you continue using the pH-balanced skin care products provided instead of your usual skincare regime. Using this home skincare daily is essential to long term pigment reduction. After 3 months, it’s advised to switch to a skincare regime with Vitamin A, C and pigment inhibitor for the next 4 months.

According to Skin Institute’s experts, the initial reaction can involve a bit of itching (managed with an antihistamine) or some swelling and redness of the treated area but it rarely lasts longer than 48 hours.

The good news is results are expected within a week, where you can expect to see skin blemishes begin to fade significantly, and a brighter complexion revealed. After a couple of weeks, your skin will take on a dramatically shinier, healthier glow and the results will continue to improve even further over the following weeks. To ensure the results last, you must make sure you use effective high SPF and avoid the sun.

The treatment is not suitable if you’re pregnant or planning on getting pregnant; breastfeeding; allergic to any component of Cosmelan; on antibiotics, isotretinoin or hydroquinone; have a skin infection; or have recently had a peel or IPL or a laser treatment in the area.
