US eatery’s heartwarming note to homeless goes viral
A heartwarming note from a US cafe owner to a homeless stranger restores internet's faith in humanity.

A note posted in a US sandwich shop has gone viral for all the right reasons.

The owner of P. B. Jams, Ashley Jiron placed the note in his Oaklahoma eatery’s window after discovering some of the food put out to be discarded had been taken from the garbage.

“Last week, I had noticed some bags, when I had taken out the trash, were torn open and some of the food was taken out,” she told local media.

“That really, it hurt me that someone had to do that.”

So the owner wrote a note inviting the homeless person to a free meal next time he or she is hungry.

The note reads:

To the person going through our trash for their next meal,
You’re a human being and worth more than a meal from a dumpster. Please come in during operating hours for a classic Pb&j, fresh veggies, and a cup of water at no charge. No questions asked.
Your friend, the owner

While the person has yet to come forward to claim their free meaL, Jiron says she will keep the note up until they do.

“I think we’ve all been in that position where we needed someone’s help and we just needed someone to extend that hand and if I can be that one person to extend that hand to another human being then I will definitely do it,” she said.

Jiron also shared her note with the store’s Facebook followers on the social media page. It has been shared more than 300 times thus far and has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from commenters:
