There’s a delectable and sought-after new scented candle inspired by Parisian bakeries.
Admit it, we’re all obsessed with scented candles.
Evidence comes in the form of the glut of new releases to gently scent our home, and how quickly the buzzed-about arrivals are selling out.
Acknowledging we’ve all spent far too much time within our own four walls over the past year, many scent experts and perfumery brands have chosen to focus on giving us a way to mentally escape our current surroundings with scented home and lifestyle products, rather than personal perfumes.
We’re not sure what that says for Gwyneth Paltrow’s decision to release her This Smells Like My Vagina candle, but she’s not the only one choosing less than traditional notes. See also: Boy Smells’ popular Kush candle, that wafts a heady mix of cannabis, suede, and amber, and Byredo’s new Altar candle, said to reinterpret prayer candles, with notes of clove buds, ylang ylang, carnation, guaiac wood and Haiti vetiver.
The newest release to covet is perhaps has a wider appeal and is an absolute win for carb lovers: Luxury French Perfume House Overose has just released a Croissant candle.
The chic lavender glass candle is said to smell just like a ‘Warm Parisian Croissant’.
“What makes the perfect Croissant?” the brand asks on the candle’s page.
“A magnificent golden crispy puff pastry that smells as delicious as it tastes. A premium butter to indulge a lavish smoothness to the Croissant, one bite and it melts in the mouth.

There’s also a similarly scented candle called Euphoriasme that extends the idea with slightly sweeter gourmand notes of ‘Warm Croissant, Cranberries, Crème Brulée, Rose Blossom Water’.

Now the bad news: The first run of both candles sold out almost instantly. Dry your tears though, the brand is restocking as fast as they are able. With the number of bakery-loving scent fanatics, we predict they’re onto a smash hit!
