Things You Didn’t Know About Cameron Diaz
There's more to Cameron Diaz than meets the eye.

There is definitely still something about Cameron Diaz. With a mega-watt smile and a twinkle in her eye, the golden girl from California is the poster child for healthy living. She’s also unabashedly honest, telling MiNDFOOD in 2015 that if she could go back and tell herself one thing, she would say: “When you’re in your 40s you realise that in your 20s you didn’t know anything. I’d remind myself of that”.

Here are six things you may not know about the Hollywood beauty.

She’s a healthy eating advocate

Diaz has written two books, The Body Book and The Longevity Book. Both focus on Diaz’s findings on nutrition, exercise and the mind/body connection. Diaz is passionate about fresh, homegrown vegetables and healthy, homemade meals with a high vegetable content. She also gets behind some of the in-the-moment food trends, such as activated charcoal.

She keeps good company

Diaz is close friends with Charlie’s Angels costar Drew Barrymore, and besties with Gwyneth Paltrow.

Her philosophy is a rounded one

“The best things we can do for ourselves as we grow older also happen to be some of our favourite things to do”, Diaz says. “Eating good food, developing our muscles, getting a good night’s sleep, loving other people, laughing, relaxing, finding joy in the world. These are the actions and activities that make us interesting people, curious people, strong people.”

She’s a feminist

Diaz joined fellow actress Jennifer Lawrence and singer Adele for the Women’s March earlier this year, holding a sign that read “A movement should never take us backwards, it should always carry us forwards”. She has also spoken about body positivity on many occasions, including in The Body Book: “Your body is amazing. Right now, whatever shape you are in, your body is an amazing machine that does so many cool things.”

She loves nature

On an Instagram post of a forest setting, Diaz simply wrote: #getoutide. She also reshared a stunning National Geographic image with the caption: “So much to see…So much to live for.”

She’s a Democrat all the way

Diaz made it very clear who she supported in the Hillary-Trump election, taking to Instagram to write: “I voted today for the country I want to live in… a country where there is equality, inclusion, acceptance and freedom that EVERY American deserves… Please go out and vote for the America you want to live in.” Earlier his year when the stunning Obama portraits were revealed, she posted an image of Michelle on The Body Book page saying the portrait “captures the intelligence, strength, and timeless grace she exudes.”
