These ‘Skeleton Flowers’ transform states
These incredible flowers do something surprising when it rains.

Diphelleia grayi, or ‘The Skeleton Flower’ is a white woodland blossom whose petals transform when exposed to wet environments.

To be specific, the opaque white of the petals that you see during sunlight, magically disappear into a glass-like transparency once water is detected.

The plant, which grows in the colder regions of China, Japan and the Appalachian Mountains in the US, can only be found in these areas.

This miraculous sensitivity to heat, cold, dryness and moisture – gives this flower a rare chameleon-like quality.
