It’s usually our favourite silver screen and television stars that steal the show on the red carpet at the BAFTAs. But this year all eyes were on Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, as she turned heads in a familiar Alexander McQueen gown.
The Duchess, who was accompanied by Prince William, wore a breathtaking white gown embroidered with golden hibiscus flowers. The look was first sported by the Duchess back in 2012, when she wore the floor-sweeping gown to a state dinner in Malaysia. While the Duchess has a penchant for wearing gowns more than once, the move was aligned with the BAFTA’s new sustainability efforts.
In January, the organising body announced its decision to encourage guests to opt for more environmentally friendly fashion choices. – Guests were provided information from the London College of Fashion’s Centre of Sustainability to help guide their decisions.
