The 8 Most Covetable Pieces From Net-a-Porter’s New Lifestyle Edit

The 8 Most Covetable Pieces From Net-a-Porter’s New Lifestyle Edit

Over the years we’ve clocked up hundreds of hours and thousands of (if-only imaginary) dollars, filling our virtual Net-a-Porter shopping carts with high-end items from top ateliers and contemporary fashion houses around the globe.

So news that the luxury e-retailer has grown its limited gifting suite into a substantial homewares section — and at a time when we’ve never been more preoccupied with our homes and living spaces — has us preemptively reaching for our wallets.

In addition to expanding its existing selection of niche candles and coffee table books, brand new categories include decorative objects and soft furnishings, such as artful ceramics and designer blankets and throws, many of which are exclusive to Net-a-Porter. Chosen with the notion of “upgrading the everyday” in mind, senior fashion market editor Libby Page says the items featured in this first edit are “just the start” of what will be a new side-focus for the fashion retailer going forward.

So what to add to the wish-list first? Leave it to STYLE’s editors, who have scrolled through the offering and identified their top picks below.

L’Objet ‘Cubisme Two’ earthenware bookend

Like many people, I’ve been devouring books this year with my bookshelf quickly piling up with new titles. This geometric bookend from L’Object’s ‘Cubisme’ collection is a work of art in itself and would be the perfect funky addition to dress up my bookshelf — Kathryn Chung, staff writer

Completedworks x Ekaterina Bazhenova Yamasaki ‘Yesterday is History’ ceramic vase

I really enjoy the slightly crumpled, deflated nature of Ekaterina Bazhenova Yamasaki’s ceramics, this tan bud vase would be a beautiful dressing or dining table addition with a stem or two from the garden. I know Net-a-Porter takes great care in its packaging so one can only assume more delicate items like this from the lifestyle section would be delivered with care! — Megan Bedford, beauty editor

Lauren Rubinski suede jewellery tray in Turquoise

I kind of like the idea of selecting an outfit for an evening event and laying out the equivalent jewellery on this tray while I shower and do my makeup. It plays into my romantic notion of having a dressing room, when really it’s just my bedroom I’m getting ready in — Megan Bedford, beauty editor

Smythson ‘Mara’ croc-effect jewellery box

As anyone who’s familiar with my accessories rotation would know, I never met a bit of mock-croc I didn’t like. The understated elegance of this Smythson jewellery box feeds right into that obsession, plus think of all the fun to be had filling those compartments! — Phoebe Watt, managing editor

Erdem ‘Intarsia’ merino wool and cashmere-blend blanket

If there’s one thing that this year of lockdowns and self-imposed periods of hibernation has taught me, it’s that a cosy home environment is worth investing in. Not to jinx anything, but an Erdem blanket would totally take the sting out of another six weeks stuck indoors — Phoebe Watt, managing editor

Buccellati silver ‘Daisy’ bowl

I like the idea of filling my home with understated but similarly striking homewares. This Daisy bowl doesn’t scream ‘look at me’ but at the same time, the shape and form draws the eye to each delicate petal — Lillian McHugh, integration director

Assouline Palm Beach and Ibiza books

I’m a sucker for anything pink so I’ve added these two Assouline books on Palm Beach and Ibiza to my wishlist. They’ll be perfect for the coffee table and for a little escapism, too — Ashley Wallace, staff writer
