Sydneysiders get ready – a spectacular light show is set to light up your homes
Sydney is set to host its first-ever isolation illumination event.

#DIYVivid kicks off at 7 pm on Friday 22 May and is inspired by the world-famous Vivid Festival, which was cancelled due to COVID-19.

Sydneysiders are encouraged to dust off their festive lights and decorate their balconies, apartment blocks, streets and suburbs.

Comedian James Breko came up with the clever idea and hopes it can add a little light during this difficult time.

“The idea of busting out that box of fairy lights or making your own decorations at home, is something everyone can be part of, and the more people who join in, the more we can make the Sydney sparkle.”

“The beauty of #DIYVivid is there’s no need to travel to be part of the action,” adds Breko. “Get your street, your neighbours or your apartment block involved and connect together safely at home.”

#DIYVivid will run every evening for two weeks from 7 pm Friday 22 May until Friday 5 June.
