The Queen has given her confidante "unprecedented permission" to publish a tell-all book detailing their close friendship spanning 25 years.

In a Royal Household first, The Queen has allowed her closest ally to publish a book uncovering secret details of the pair’s close 25-year relationship.

Angela Kelly is Queen Elizabeth II’s personal adviser and dresser.

Over the years they have formed a tight bond and become personal friends.

The tell-all book will be titled, The Other Side of the Coin: The Queen, The Dresser and the Wardrobe.

The book hits shelves on October 29.

Kelly will reveal personal anecdotes and insights into her “unparalleled bond” with Her Majesty, according to publisher Harper Collins, saying

The book will also include never-seen-before photographs from Kelly’s personal collection.

“The Queen has personally given Angela her blessing to share their unparalleled bond with the world.

“Angela Kelly is the first serving member of the Royal Household to have been given this extraordinary permission.

“Whether it’s preparing for a formal occasion or brightening Her Majesty’s day with a playful joke, Angela’s priority is to serve and support,” the publisher said.

Samantha Cohen, who was The Queen’s private secretary for seven years and Harry and Meghan’s outgoing private secretary, told ITV that the book gives a “rare glimpse” into the job of working with Her Majesty.

“We gain privileged insight into a successful working relationship, characterised by humour, creativity, hard work, and a mutual commitment to service and duty,” she said.

Kelly is the daughter of a Liverpool dockworker and has worked with the Queen for 25 years.

Her full title is Her Majesty’s Personal Adviser and Curator (The Queen’s Jewellery, Insignias and Wardrobe), Senior Dresser and In-house Designer.

The book will be Kelly’s second publication on her work with The Queen, although the upcoming book will delve far deeper into their personal relationship.

In 2012 she wrote Dressing The Queen, released in time for the Diamond Jubilee.
