According to The Daily Mail, the monarch and senior officials are believed to have decided the couple must drop the word “royal” from their “branding”.
The Duke and Duchess launched a Sussex Royal website shortly after announcing they would step back as senior royals, and they also have an Instagram account under the handle @sussexroyal.
The pair have applied to register Sussex Royal as a global trademark for a range of merchandise.
They had also planned to set up a new charitable organisation under the name Sussex Royal.
Harry and Meghan made their shock announcement to step back from royal duties in early January.
Since then, it’s been determined the pair will continue to be known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but will no longer actively use their HRH titles.
