The bird and the Bey: Parrot delivers impressive rendition of ‘If I Were a Boy’
Chico the parrot is a major drawcard for the Lincolnshire Wildlife Park in the UK.

The nine-year-old yellow-crowned Amazon parrot has been impressing park guests with his covers of pop hits.

A video of Chico singing a pitch-perfect rendition of Beyonce’s ‘If I Were a Boy’ has gone viral after it was uploaded to social media.

The talented parrot arrived at Lincolnshire Wildlife Park 18 months ago and since then his star has been on the rise.

Chico has also been known to mimic a number of pop tracks including Firework by Katy Perry, Poker Face by Lady Gaga and Crazy by Gnarls Barkley.

However, according to park CEO Steve Nichols, Chico’s talent has caused some issues during the coronavirus pandemic, due to crowds gathering to catch his performances.

“Who’d have ever thought that a parrot would cause social distancing problems due to being so popular?” Nichols said.

According to Graham Gardner, a regular visitor to the wildlife park, people “can’t get enough” of Chico.

“There’s always a line of people waiting to see him – it’s like he’s an actual pop star,” he said.
