Lady Gaga was the star of this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, taking home Artist of the Year and showing off a number of stunning outfits.

The 2020 VMAs was the first major awards show to take place this year, with many others cancelled due to the pandemic.

The event was filmed without a live audience, with many of the performances filmed in advance and artists tuning in virtually to accept awards.

Host Keke Palmer opened the event, sharing a heartfelt dedication to Black Panther’s Chadwick Boseman, who recently passed away at the age of 43.

Lady Gaga was the big winner of the night, taking home four awards, including Artist of the Year and Song of the Year.

“This has not been an easy year for a lot of people,” said Gaga. “Stay safe, speak your minds, and I might sound like a broken record but wear a mask.”

K-pop group BTS won several awards and Taylor Swift nabbed the prize for best direction for her ‘The Man’ music video.
