Netflix’s latest documentary series is all about dogs!
It’s hard to think of a pitch more shameless than “What if we made a show about a bunch of adorable dogs?” On the other hand, as the trailer for Netflix’s next docuseries demonstrates, few things are as immediately enticing than just that – a bunch of dogs goofing around, doing dog things.
The streaming service’s newest project is all about man’s best friend and, fair warning, it looks like you should watch with a box of tissues in hand.
Called Dogs, landing on Netflix on November 16 and just dropping its first “awwww”-inducing trailer today, the show follows puppers in Syria, Japan, Costa Rica, Italy and the US, each with their own stories to tell.
In addition to the show’s focus on the six dog stories, including the story of the people who run “a sanctuary deep in the Costa Rican rainforest that houses thousands of dogs to keep them from living on the streets.”
“Dogs don’t just make us feel loved – dogs make us feel safe,” the film’s director Glen Zipper told Variety. “In the world we live in today, no matter how divided we are, we should take care to realise how much dogs mean to all of us, and how our bond with them can help bring us together.”
