Meryl Streep Shares The One Thing She’d Tell Her Younger Self
The Hollywood A-lister reveals the advice she would go back to give.

In an exclusive interview with MiNDFOOD, Meryl Streep opened up about body image and self-confidence. When asked what advice she would give her younger self, the celebrated actress, 68, said she would tell herself to stop worrying about her appearance.

“I wouldn’t worry about my weight as many days of the year as I did,” she admits. “It’s a waste of time.” The star acknowledged the futility of fretting over the size and appearance of one’s body. “I don’t know if it’s a problem, but it’s an obsession. And it’s a useless, sort of silly thing,” she says.

It’s what’s inside that matters, Streep adds. “Your health, yes, pay attention to that. Your strength, yes, pay attention to that.”

MiNDFOOD spoke to Streep as she promoted her new film The Post, directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Hanks. View the interview here.
