Bold, bright colours are the statement style choices for Meghan Markle this month, as she heads off on her final round of royal duties. Following up her blue Victoria Beckham ensemble, and caped red gown, the Duchess chose a green number from Kiwi-born designer Emilia Wickstead as she attended the Commonwealth Day Service.

The emerald cape dress was an interesting choice for the Duchess, given the controversy that came up between them around her wedding. in 2018, Wickstead spoke up about Meghan’s Clare Waight Keller wedding dress, claiming it looked “identical” to one of her designs. The designer later issued an apology, saying “I do not think that the wedding dress was a copy of any of our designs.”

Wickstead has been a popular choice amongst both royals and celebs, with the caped trend becoming a much-loved look by the big names in fashion. Supermodel Gigi Hadid rocked a blue power jumpsuit by Wickstead last April, that also featured a cape draped over one shoulder.

Meghan matched the dress with a William Chambers hat and nude pumps by Aquazzura.
