Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s baby boy arrived in the world at 5:26am (BST) weighing 7lbs 3oz (3.35kg) – one minute after the sun rose on Monday in Windsor, according to CNN.
A beaming Prince Harry said they were “absolutely thrilled” and thanked the public for their support.
He said Duchess Meghan and the baby were doing “incredibly well”, adding that they were still thinking about names for Baby Sussex.
Speaking from Windsor, the Duke of Sussex said the child was “absolutely to die for” and he is “so proud of his wife”.

The ceremonial bulletin announcing the birth of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s newborn has been placed in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace in London.
It reads: “The Queen and the Royal Family are delighted at the news that Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex was safely delivered of a son at 05:26am today. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”
The royal family, including the Queen, Prince Philip, Harry’s father Prince Charles, and his brother Prince William are said to be “delighted with the news”.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are among the royal family members who’ve responded to the birth of the baby boy. In a joint statement with other relatives – the couple said they “have been informed and are delighted with the news.”
Private birth
While Duchess Meghan’s baby bump has been one of the most photographed in history, the former Hollywood star and husband Prince Harry opted for a private affair when it came to the birth of their baby boy. The Duke and Duchess ditched decades of tradition by not having their baby at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in London.
The royal couple let on as little as possible to the media, also not announcing when the Duchess went into labour – unlike has been the case with the Duchess of Cambridge and the birth of her three children. This led to much speculation by royal watchers in the days and weeks before the birth.
And, if you’re hoping to catch a glimpse of the seventh in line to the throne – it won’t come right away. “I think we’ll be seeing you guys in probably two days’ time,” Prince Harry told reporters on Monday.
