Matariki Kōrero: Food For Thought- Kai Culture & Food Fundamentals. Educate yourself this Matariki and explore the current issues we face with growing, making and consuming our food.

What: Matariki is a time when family celebrate the harvest season, this makes it the perfect time to discuss the story of the food we consume. We all share in the experience of food so look at food fundamentals and the culture of food are an important part of our culture. Join contributors from Freerange Press’s Kai and culture: Food stories from Aotearoa in discussion with University of Canterbury lecturer and researcher Erin Harrington, as they explore some of the current issues involved in the growing, making and eating of our food.
