Make your own clean air spritz
During these challenging times, it is the antimicrobial action of essential oils and their ability to improve our overall emotional, physiological and spiritual wellbeing, that make essential oil therapy such a viable complementary therapy says Pat Princi-Jones, Oil Garden Aromatherapy Expert and author of A Scented Life.

“Essential oils can be your preferred line of defence during the coming months, as they offer real protective benefits regardless of the application you choose” says Princi-Jones.

Essential oils that are traditionally used to fight viruses include tea tree, lavender, thyme, clove, lemon, pine, chamomile, sandalwood and eucalyptus.

“If you start using them as soon as symptoms appear, you may limit the duration of a cold. If you are in good health, oils can even help prevent secondary bacterial infection when used regularly”.

Princi-Jones’ tip to cleansing the air when working from home includes making your own essential oils spray. Add 2-3 drops of clove bud, lemon and tea tree essential oils with 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to a spray bottle filled with water. Spritz the room for a fresh smell.
