Kate Hudson visits Cambodian schools to help fight world hunger
Hudson and fashion designer Michael Kors have joined together to raise money for The World Food Program.

In a bid to end global hunger, Kate Hudson and Michael Kors have teamed up to raise funds for the United Nations World Food Program (WFP), the leading humanitarian organisation for fighting global hunger.

For the entire month of October, Hudson and Kors are working together with Kors’ Watch Hunger Stop initiative. As well as stocking special edition watches and sunglasses where, for every item sold 100 meals are donated to WFP, Kors has opened up a registration system so customers can donate in-store around the world. Watch Hunger Stop has also created a unique Snapchat geofilter that donates 25 meals to WFP for every purchase. Hudson is integral to the launch and promotion of each initiative.

Recently, the actress visited schools and homes in Cambodia to see firsthand how WFP and Watch Hunger Stop are helping feed children in need and improve their lives. Hudson helped cook meals and fine-tune the details of the WFP School Feeding Initiative, and also spent time connecting with elderly locals and playing with children.

This is the pair’s third year of partnering to fight global hunger, which both view as an essential move. “WFP’s school meals program helps children in the moment and for the long term,” says Kors. “It’s a way to change lives, and we’re proud to support them.”

“As a mother, I can’t think of anything more important than raising a healthy and educated generation of children, and WFP’s School Meals Program is committed to exactly that.” Hudson adds. “This is a cause that I’m eager to be a part of because I believe we can all make a real and significant difference.”

Kors stated how thrilled he is to work with Hudson again. “I am so excited to have Kate Hudson join me in the fight to ensure that no child anywhere in the world goes to bed hungry,” he said. “Not only does she have a unique star quality but she also brings an incredible amount of generosity and a can-do attitude to a cause that is extremely important to me personally.”

So far Hudson and Kors, in collaboration with WFP, have provided more than 15 million meals to hungry children. To support the campaign, visit michaelkors.com.
